Black Wet Fly
Contributed by: Warren Frank

Recipe
Hook:Wet FLy Hook.
Thread:Black 8/0
Shell Back:About 20 strands of black Krystal Flash
Dubbing:Black dubbing
Hackle:Black Hen Hackle
Notes:From Warren - Tie on your thread, and move it back to the end of the shank. Tie in the Krystal Flash. Dub the body with the black dubbing, leaving enough room at the front of the hook for the hackle and head. Then, twist the Krystal Flash a few times to create a "rope", and then pull it forward over the body. Tie the Krystal Flash down at the front of the hook with several tight wraps of the thread. Then wrap the hackle as you would for any other wet fly. Tie off with a neat head.

The Black Wet Fly generally imitates a number of terrestrial bugs; ants, beetles, or crickets. It can be fished with a split shot to get it down in the water, or it can be fished "damp" in the surface. Either way, it's a great fly.

If I had only one fly, this might be it.
