Re-establish the Clean Water Act!
Each year, millions of Americans visit wetland areas to hunt, canoe
and birdwatch. Without Congressional action, we will be unable
to reestablish protection to drinking water, recreational waters,
and the waters which are so important and precious to fish,
wildlife, and conservationists. Without this bill, streams, ponds,
wetlands will continue to endure unregulated wastewater discharges
and other destructive impacts. Unless we act quickly to
protect the nation’s wetlands, they may be lost forever. Congressman
Oberstar’s has proposed an initiative to restore the 1972
Clean Water Act to its original intended pupose. Call or write
your congressmen to support Congressman Oberstar’s reestablishment
of the Clean Water Act! Find your congressperson

Ron Schara and his Minnesota Bound crew recently did a story on trout fishing in Minnesota.
The story features our very own Twin Cities Trout Unlimited President Kevin Biegler. This is another great
step forward, giving more positive exposure to the coldwater jewels of our state.

MPCA Releases New Report On Impaired Waters
Every 2 years, the MPCA is required to update the list of streams and lakes that are not
meeting their designated uses due to pollution. This requirement comes from the Clean Water Act.
The updated list has just come out, and 400 waterways were added to the list, and
many are trout streams in Southeast Minnesota.
